Thank you to all performers for a wonderful day of acoustic music String Fling IV is in the books!  Even with a mid-day rain the show did go on. Your talents helped to create a highly entertaining and professional acoustic line-up the likes of which have not been seen in Lewisburg.  Although the rain dampened the mainstage and the grounds for a few hours the music played on.  Here are a few thoughts of appreciation: Josh Glover - Thanks to you and Shannon for batting lead-off and letting me sit in on mandolin.  I especially enjoyed the Beatles tune and ‘When you say nothing at all’. Highland Rim - Man you folks had some tough luck.  After being lost in Lewisburg and directed in by Gale Francis, you were hurried up on stage only to play two songs before the bottom dropped out. Huddled on a covered but very open stage for 30 minutes while a powerful thunderstorm blew through was scary, wet and cold.  I hope the instruments and your clothes dried out.  Through it all there were zero complaints – you guys are troopers! What little I did hear from you musically was excellent. Roam County Radio - ‘We ain’t gonna let the rain stop us from playin’. So……. off to the pavilion with instruments in hand and on with the show sans the PA system.  Thanks for kicking off the acoustic picnic show.  (Pretty cool name for a concert - The Acoustic Picnic) Way to go! Greg Jones - Sitting on the edge of a picnic table closely surrounded active listeners while belting out some original tunes; what could be better?  (OK maybe dry weather but we made the best of it.) Thanks again for playing.  Great stuff Greg. Scot Phagley - You were fantastic and kept things rolling along.  Sitting with the folks under the shelter I got to enjoy your musical offerings up close and personal.  Nice! Sweet Diezel - Mesmerized.  That is the word to describe the 40-50 people fortunate enough to be enjoying the great harmonies and instrumental work of your four piece band.  Tennessee’s gain is Canada’s loss.  Welcome and thanks - ‘ A ‘ Tarkington / Brown - Billy; you sang through a sore throat, with no amplification, over the sound of a rainshower, and still sounded like Willie Nelson! Fantastic work. Markum; you started with an appropriate song about a river and engaged the listeners throughout.  Great singing, picking, writing, and entertaining.  You made people smile. Ronnie Fruge’ - Thanks for bringing us back on the mainstage after the rain with some nifty Cajun tunes about real people rendered with heart and soul.  Pass the hot sauce please!  Very entertaining on the Tennessee bayou. Irene Kelley - I was already a fan of your music; now I am a huge fan!  With excellent bass, guitar, and harmony backups your show was fantastic!  It is hard to know which I enjoyed more; your songs or your singing.  I loved both. Jim Reynolds and Gemstone - ‘Let me show you what a rainy day is for’.  One of my favorite Gemstone songs was superbly preformed and very appropriate.  You packed a load of music in to just over 40 minutes. Great job to the Gemstone boys in black.  Jay Clark - Only 5 songs but tons of entertainment.  I really enjoyed your stories and songs. With titles like ‘Free beer tomorrow’ and ‘Jesus loves dogs too’ you can’t go wrong. Hey, I also heard that you booked a Middle Tennessee gig from someone attending the fling.  Bring your East Tennessee PhD self back anytime.  Kenny and Amanda Smith - I knew y’all were good however I had never heard you live before.  Wow!  So much music from 2 people. Incredible.  Thank you so much for entertaining us. I am now spinning Kenny and Amanda CDs continually. Donna Ulisse - A big sound, great tunes, and hot pickin - what more could anyone want?  Your material keeps getting better and your band getting tighter; if that is possible.  What a wonderful set of great bluegrass music.  Very well done! Flashpoint - I did not expect ‘They call the wind Mariah’ after I introduced you but it was a killer bluegrass tune.  I am anxious to hear your tracks and mix a live record.   The show closed just after 10:00pm and although the crowd had diminished I was satisfied that it was great way to send a day.  It was crazy, damp, entertaining, enjoyable, improvisational, and just plain fun.  And yes, the show did go.

Tennessee Acoustic Music offers several ways to assist you in your need for acoustic artists:

  • Our unique turn-key Tennessee Acoustic Music variety show blends bluegrass, folk, acoustic jazz, acoustic covers, and singer-songwriter talent into an eclectic display of fine acoustic music. Set in a mini-opry type format this fast paced presentation works well at conventions to provide a down-home Nashville show. (comparable to Woodsongs radio hour or Prairie home companion)
  • If you need a good acoustic artist for an engagement - contact Tennessee Acoustic.
  • If you have a need for a full line-up of talent for an event such as a bluegrass festival - contact Tennessee Acoustic.
  • If you need a PA and/or an audio engineer for live sound - contact Tennessee Acoustic.
